Coward or Courageous?
August 25, 2014

God didn’t give us a cowardly spirit but a spirit of power, love, and good judgment. So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord or be ashamed of me, his prisoner. Instead, by God’s power, join me in suffering for the sake of the Good News. (2 Timothy 1:7-8 GW)
The key to success in carrying out God's assignment for our lives, that is in spreading the Good News, is to simply not be a coward. Cowards fall backwards but those who choose to live courageously always fall forward even if we make mistakes. Courage exceeds knowledge because knowledge with out courage is stagnant. I'd rather it be said of me that I was fearless than that I was smart. That's not to say that intelligence isn't important because it is, but left alone it simply a means to promote one's on and others estimate of themselves.
Paul says "join me in suffering for the sake of the "Good News". Suffering, not in sickness, disease, or lack, but through persecution and afflictions from others is the primary reason many are unwilling to stand for right and righteousness. There is a definite price to be paid. Thanks be to God that he has equipped us with "power, love, and a sound mind". Pastor Logan
